Ministry Resources During This Pandemic

If you’re like most ministry leaders, you are winging it right now. We are all in uncharted territory trying to figure out what works best for those God has entrusted to us. No doubt we will be critical of what others say and do. Likewise, many will be critical of what we say and do. But let’s try to keep in mind, there is no one size fits all answer. We’re all doing the best we can. I wanted to try to offer a little help. There are so many resources and many people aren’t aware of them or where to find them. I have tried to compile some helpful links here for you and your ministry.

If you know of any others, please reach out to me and I’ll see if I can add them to the list. Let’s work together in this season.

Facebook

Many churches have leaned hard into Facebook, but many of them aren’t very savvy when it comes to social media management. That’s okay. You’re not alone. First, keep in mind that you don’t have to be perfect. Just continue to be faithful to your call. Second, Facebook has created a page just for you to help you maximize your efforts. This will probably be useful even after things shift back to the new normal.

Faith on Facebook

Saddleback

Saddleback has joined forces with some others to create theĀ Coronavirus and the Church resources website. It appears they are keeping this updated as news and information changes. This might be a site you want to bookmark and check often.

Pro Church Tools

Pro Church Tools always offers someĀ Free Tools here. A few of their most recent videos specifically address our current situation. Beneath the video is where you’ll find links to the free resources they explain in the video. This is another resource worth bookmarking.

Free/Discounts

Many companies (i.e. Google & Zoom) offer free or discounted products and services for churches. Many of them require you to set up an account with TechSoup before you are eligible. Tech Soup will verify your NFP status and give you a token or allow you to sign up for programs through your site. Not every option will fit your context, but many probable will. For example, Zoom offers discounts on its Pro and Business plans.

Youth Ministry Specific

Youth ministry is always challenging. This season is no different in that regard. How we do ministry and how we talk with our students about what’s going on in the world is important. Here are a few resources that can help.
